On 13th May 2016 Annette and Maurice Britton attended the opening of the First Fleet Memorial Gardens at Matraville.

Over 400 people attended, mostly First fleeters.  The gardens have been created as a memorial to the people who arrived on the First Fleet in 1788.

Annette and Maurice were impressed with the proceedings and Annette gave a short resume' of the day at the August meeting of the North West Chapter.
