Capt Philip Celebrations

August was a busy month for members as quite a few were able to go to the First Fleet Gardens on Sunday 31st August to celebrate the 200 years since Arthur Phillip died.   Thanks to members who created and manned our display there.   The weather was great and about 300 people came from other parts of Australia to meet up and be part of the celebrations organised by Liverpool Plains Shire Council.   The talk by Steve Cuneen was excellent and who could forget Maurie Miller in his winning convict outfit.   Colin Worrad’s photo dressed as Arthur Phillip was featured in the following Monday’s Northern Daily Leader.

We meet on the first Saturday of February, April, June, August, October and December usually at the Family History Rooms 62-64 North St Tamworth. On odd occasions we may have to change the day to the second Saturday. To confirm, please phone (02) 6765 2122
