Insurance Policy

If you are a member of a Chapter of the Fellowship of the First Fleeters (FFF) you are covered, when at a Chapter event, by the Public Liability Insurance/Group Personal Accident policy, taken out by FFF.

FFF is an incorporated company, limited by guarantee, governed by the Australia Securities and Investment Commission (A.S.I.C.)

The main details of the cover are:

  • Public Risk is $20 million,

  • Accidental Death $100,000.   This section also has lesser payouts for dismemberment and similar occurrences.

  • Weekly benefit for injury up to $200 per week, providing that this does not exceed your normal earnings.   Benefit period is up to 52 weeks.

  • Home help $200 per week for 52 weeks

  • The policy does not cover sickness.

The age limit covered is up to age 95.

The policy covers an accident or incident associated with an activity concerning the Fellowship of First Fleeters.

You do need to be members of FFF.  Ordinary membership of FFF is $36 per person, pensioner membership (on submission of proof of being a pensioner) $26, associates $25 and $6 for juniors.   Application forms may be obtained from the secretary or the treasurer.

I do hope this explains the matter of insurance.   Unfortunately to have cover for our own Chapter would be a very expensive operation.   All I can say is that it is available if you are or become a member of FFF.

This is my personal interpretation derived from Fellowship records. For more accurate information please contact the legal department of the Fellowship of First Fleeters 105 Cathedral St Woolloomooloo  NSW 2011

Yours in Fellowship
